DETAILS

This event is dedicated to exploring RAWGraphs for data visualization: a tool that makes it easier to create beautiful and unusual charts. And for that reason we have invited guests who have made some stunning work with RAWGraphs: Maarten Lambrechts - a data journalist and data visualization designer, and Maxene Graze - data visualization engineer for MURAL.

🧠 WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

  • how to use RAWGraphs
  • how to create non-standard visualizations with the tool
  • what is xenographics

📅 AGENDA

17.30 Intro & welcome

17.40 Maarten Lambrechts - Creating non-standard visualizations with RAWGraphs
Maarten talk about how to make non-standard data visualisations with RAWGraphs, and also share some of his work for which he used RAWgraphs.

18.20 Maxene Graze - How to make a twitter-able data visualization in under an 1 hour.
The talk will dive into RAWgraph basics so that everyone is on the same page by creating a visualization together in RAWGraphs. We will use a data set and pick a chart together that we are happy with. Then we’ll export it into Adobe and talk about ways that you can spruce it up - a useful technique to use when your engineering skills don’t match your vision.
