We're working with Suas, The Key and TASC charities for 1.5 days to help them understand and improve their operations, marketing and strategy using business & data analysis, predictive modelling and visualisation. Lets help them tell a story backed up by real data and share insights with charities throughout Ireland.

The general plan is for you, our volunteers, to simply show up on the Saturday, laptop in hand, ready to work with and learn from others. You'll interact fully with the charity and other volunteers and hopefully have some fun!

Hi Everybody,

As you've hopefully noticed - we've been very busily building towards our first inaugural DataDive to be held over the weekend of Dec 06/07, which is very soon!

We're holding the event at the Science Gallery on Pearse St, Dublin from 10am to 8pm on the Saturday, and 10am to 2pm on the Sunday. We're providing breakfast, lunch, teas & coffees throughout both days, pizza on the Saturday evening and a badge of honour to anyone crazy enough to keep working into the small hours...

Our Data Ambassadors have been very busy at our last two DataJams (and also in their spare time) putting in a stellar effort to prepare the datasets and work with our charity partners (Suas, TASC and The Key) to understand their goals, such that we can all be effective and work on some really interesting problems over the weekend and deliver good insights. All we need you to do is turn up with your laptop and a willingness to apply your data science skills to some interesting problems to help our charity partners.

The primary goal for the weekend is to generate insights for and with our charity partners that they can use to improve their operations and help achieve their goals. They'll present their backgrounds and goals etc first thing on the Saturday and then be on hand to work with you throughout the days before you can then present your team's findings back to the group in a 10 minute presentation on the Sunday afternoon.

We're growing a really strong data and charity focussed community here, with some fantastic skills to boot. If you're new to DataKind Dublin then please feel very welcome to come join in the fun; bring your specialist expertise in deep belief networks, your artistic flair for data visualisation, or simply your killer Excel skills - all are welcome and hopefully we can all learn from one another too.

The fun will all begin on Saturday 6th Dec at 10am in the Science Gallery, please bring a laptop and all else will be provided for you. We're limited to 60 people for the event, so please get your RSVP in now :)
