We're excited to share this special virtual event with professionals who are new to Python, or have an interest in learning a different programming language.

  2. Basic Semantics – Variables & Operators
  3. Control flow
  4. Data structures
  5. Functions & Modules
  6. Introduction to NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib
  7. Linear Regression using Python

TIMELINE:
9:00am - Morning Session Starts
10:30am - Biobreak (10 min)
12:00pm - Lunch
1:00pm - Afternoon Session Starts
2:30pm - Biobreak (10 min)
4:00pm - Bootcamp Ends

BEFORE THE EVENT:

  1. Install Anaconda distribution (Individual Edition)
  2. Choose appropriate option from the bottom of the page based on your Operating System
  3. Download the installer and Run the same
  4. Follow on screen instructions to complete installation
  5. The installation should be self-explanatory. But just in case you need help, you may refer to the anaconda documentation

- We will be using -
Spyder - an IDE such as Spyder that provides broad range of functionalities
Jupyter - web based Jupyter notebook that combines coding, documentation, web-based execution and sharing

- Check if the installation was successful -
Test it using “Hello World!”

  1. Launch Spyder
    - Opens temp.py
    - Type print("Hello World!")
    - Click on Menu Item Run -> Run
  2. Launch Jupyter Notebook
    - Create New Python3 Notebook (New -> Python 3)
    - Creates Untitled.ipynb
    - Type print("Hello World!")
    - Click on Button Run

TO JOIN:
The invitation for the MS Teams link will be sent the day before the event (Friday, Nov 11th). If you've never used MS Teams before, it might take a few moments to set it up, so please join 10 minutes early to allow time for this. The functionality is very similar to any other online meeting app, like Zoom or Google Meet.
