Abstract
Join us for a faculty talk hosted by the Databricks University Alliance! In this session, Dr Diane Woodbridge will provide step-by-step instructions on how to obtain and redeem education credits through Google Cloud Platform (GCP). She'll demonstrate how to develop a class project using GCP components in conjunction with Databricks. Additionally, Diane will share her experiences and success stories of building class projects using Databricks.

Bio
Diane Woodbridge is an associate professor and former program director in the MS in Data Science program at the University of San Francisco (USF). She recently co-founded StudyStudio.ai, which provides ethically and pedagogically driven study guidance.

Professor Woodbridge earned her MS and PhD in Computer Science from UCLA. Her research interests include scalable database management systems, data fusion, and machine learning, with a focus on remote health monitoring. At USF, she has taught various courses including distributed computing, distributed data systems, relational databases, and web application development. She found that teaching distributed computing courses using Spark on Databricks enhances students' learning experience and outcomes.
