AGENDA
18.00 – 18:20 Meet & Greet
--------------
18:20 - 19:10 Talk #1: Paul Hill Adventures in Geo-Spatial Data (Machine Learning Professional - SRT Marine Systems)
I’ve spent around 30 years working in data science, and the past decade focused mainly on geo-spatial applications. In this session I’ll give a whistle-stop tour of some of the projects I’ve been involved in — from volcano motion detection and algal bloom prediction to ground movement monitoring, maritime data analysis, and the general fight/scrum in the use of geo spatial data for machine learning.
--------------
19:10 - 19:40 Pizza and Networking
--------------
19:40 - 20:30 Talk #2: James C Yarrow - Fivetran & DBT : Moving up the stack
With Fivetran and DBT becoming a common tooling pair, lets dive into how Fivetran can take care of our Extract, Loading and DBT to deal with the transformation logic. This tooling changes our data stack as we move closer to the domain and back to data modelling. We will look at the cost models and give some of the decision points to decide if this is valuable to your team and your business.
