Abstract:
Data isn’t useful until it’s used to drive decision-making. Companies, like Pinterest, are using Machine Learning to build data-driven recommendation engines and perform advanced cluster analysis. In this talk, Qubole, will cover best practices for running Spark in the cloud, common challenges in iterative design and interactive analysis.

Ashish is a Solutions Architect at Qubole with about 12 years of industry experience in various technology domains. Prior to Qubole, Ashish spent four years at Microsoft where he contributed to Windows XP OS development. Later he worked for Teradata's consulting division and built several large scale BI/Big Data systems for some of the Fortune 500 clients in different industry verticals like finance, healthcare, retails and multimedia. Ashish is a Solutions Architect at Qubole with over 12 years of industry experience in various technology domains. Prior to Qubole, Ashish spent four years at Microsoft where he contributed to Windows XP OS development. Later he worked for Teradata's consulting division and built several large scale BI/Big Data systems for some of the Fortune 500 clients in various industry verticals like finance, healthcare, retails and multimedia. For the last two years, Ashish has been helping Qubole customers build large scale data solutions using technologies like Spark, Hadoop, Presto, etc.
