You're invited to our next Project Accelerator Night!

Our Project Accelerator Night will bring together experts with data science and analytics backgrounds with social organisations that are looking to take their data projects to the next level.

Come meet some great charities and help them take the first steps towards successful data projects, through conversation and collaborative brainstorming.

We're excited to be partnering with MIND, the Libraries Taskforce, Turning Point and the National Council for Palliative Care for this Project Accelerator Night.

The goal of this event is to help organisations answer questions such as:

  1. What types of questions can you answer with the data you have?
  2. How can you better collect data or what other complimentary data would be useful?

Thanks you to Citigroup (http://www.citigroup.com/citi/) for hosting us!

How it works
Each organisation will present the work they are doing and discuss the data challenges they face. We will then break out into smaller groups. Each charity will have its own Meetup Ambassador who will facilitate the discussions to provide useful insights and ideas for the organisation.

The Organisations

MIND (http://www.mind.org.uk/)
Over more than 65 years Mind has been committed to make sure that everyone experiencing a mental health problem can access the support they need and is treated with the respect they deserve. MIND provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem.

They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding. Their policy work influences government.

Libraries Taskforce (https://librariestaskforce.blog.gov.uk/)
The Libraries Taskforce was set up to enable libraries in England to exploit their potential and be recognised as a vital resource for all. The Taskforce, established by the Chair of LGA’s Culture, Tourism and Sport Board and Minister for Culture and the Digital Economy first met in March 2015.

The Taskforce’s role is to enable the delivery of the recommendations from the Independent Library Report for England and to build upon, and add value to existing good practice, partnerships and other activities that are already supporting public libraries. They also promote libraries to national and local government and to potential funders, and create a strong and coherent narrative around the contribution public libraries make to society and to local communities.

Turning Point (http://www.turning-point.co.uk/)

Turning Point is a social enterprise, focused on improving lives and communities. They are experts in delivering innovative integrated care in communities, specialising in substance misuse, mental health, learning disability, employment services, criminal justice, primary care and public health.

They work closely with commissioners and communities, to help better understand the needs of the people they support. Their services are constantly evolving to find new ways to engage with even the most hard to reach people.

National Council for Palliative Care (http://www.ncpc.org.uk/)
The National Council for Palliative Care (NCPC) is the umbrella charity for all those involved in palliative, end of life and hospice care in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. They believe that everyone approaching the end of life has the right to the highest quality care and support, wherever they live, and whatever their condition.

They work with government, health and social care staff and people with personal experience to improve end of life care for all.
