Open Data Catalog For Development - Planning Meet

Details
Datameet Delhi Chapter is working towards an Open Data Catalogue for the development sector in India. The aim is to promote open data practices among development sector organizations, and to increase the use of existing datasets in their programs and projects. The availability of datasets from different sub-sectors (like water, health, sanitation, agriculture, education etc.) in the open domain, can improve development work, research and studies of impact and evaluation.
The objective of this meeting is to:
- finalize a metadata structure for the catalogue
- release a temporary submission form to start gathering datasets
- plan a bigger workshop in Delhi to launch the project formally
If you are interested in this work and would like to contribute to it, please do join us. We plan to begin discussions around 11 am and end with lunch. The venue is in Shahpur Jat, details are on this page. If you have any questions or suggestions, write to delhi@datameet.org or leave a comment below.
(Just to be clear and keep expectations in check: lunch/snacks will be organized and paid for by all participants together at the meetup)
