Meetup: New Venue, SB Road

Hi everyone,

We have a new venue to organize our meetups, a very central location which we hope works for many of you. Its the office of Parkar Technologies. We are holding our next meetup this Saturday, details below

To update those who have not been able to attend for a while, we have been working on the village shapefile for Maharashtra, which we have obtained from Bhuvan Panchayat. Will be completing a quality check on the shapefile (R/Python enthusiasts are needed for this.) and then publishing it to the Datameet Village Boundaries repository, see below.

We are also thinking of adding census 2011 data to the file and making some web maps. We welcome anyone who has worked with web maps or wants to learn more to come.

Other things on the agenda,

• Formulating a letter to the Municipal commissioner of Pune requesting a open forum consultation on Pune's open data policy (http://tech.economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/internet/pune-municipal-commissioner-wants-to-announce-open-data-policies-like-in-london-singapore/52497567)
