The Drop: SQL + The Future fo Datanauts
Details
Join us for an evening of data talk, community, and good vibes right here in San Antonio at Zelifcam on the North side!
AGENDA
6:00 to 6:15 | Meet & Greet
Grab a pizza, meet your fellow data nerds, and get settled in.
6:15 to 7:00 | Data Talk: SQL That Actually Ships
Jagannath Sai Kasarabada, Data Engineer
SQL isn't just for querying tables. It's one of the most practical tools a data engineer uses to build, test, and trust data systems. Jagannath will walk through the SQL patterns he uses in real production work: cleaning and transforming raw data, debugging joins, validating data quality, and making datasets usable for analysts and downstream teams. No textbook theory, just the SQL that actually gets the job done.
This talk is for everyone: analysts, engineers, and beginners are all welcome.
7:00 to 7:30 | Community Discussion: Where Should Datanauts Go Next?
We want to hear from you. Come ready to share ideas about the future direction of the program: new tracks, events, formats, whatever's on your mind.
๐ COMING SOON: The Datanauts Mentorship Program
We're building a structured, track-based mentorship program for anyone looking to break into data. Four tracks in the works โ Data Analysis, Machine Learning, Data Engineering, and AI Engineering โ each with real weekly deliverables, a GitHub portfolio, and a graduation talk right here at The Drop.
And yes, we're talking a real-world SQL server to practice on and a full program website. More details at the May 7th meetup.
Free to attend. Free parking.
All experience levels welcome.
See you there!
