Visual Transformers for Improving Quality of Synthetic Datasets - Visage
Details
Meetup topic
Every now and then, we get blown away with the results of some new deep learning architecture. It is important to understand the underlying technology used to achieve these results, but also to discuss the practical use cases for such architectures. Most of the recent trending deep learning methods seek inspiration in the transformer-based architectures. In this technical meetup, we will discuss the working principles of transformer-based models, with the focus on computer-vision applications. We plan to show that there is a place for these complex large models, even in the company that focuses on products that are designed to work in real-time and oftentimes on a limited hardware.
Presenters
Gordan Kreković is the CEO of Visage Technologies, a computer vision company developing algorithms for applications in automotive (driver assistance and self-driving), as well as software products related to tracking and analyzing of human faces. With a PhD degree in Computing acquired at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb and more than 12 years of professional career in managing software products, teams, and companies, Gordan has a broad experience that interconnects research, engineering, and management. Gordan is the co-author of more than 25 journal and conference papers and is still an active researcher.
Duje Medak is a Research and Development Engineer at Visage Technology. He works on the development of products that heavily rely on computer vision, and deep learning techniques to extract insights from facial images in real-time. Before joining Visage Technologies, he worked for 4 years as a researcher in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, where he completed his PhD in 2022.
