JerusML Meetup #22: Competitive Data Science Webinar
Details
The Covid-19 era is proving to be a challenging time for our careers. Be it working remotely or just having too much time at home, it is imperative to keep our skills sharp and relevant.
We introduce this webinar to boost your Data Science career with Competitive Data Science (CDS)!
Competing in data challenges is educative, engaging and fun. The community and knowledge sharing created around each competition are priceless and can drive your Data Science competencies to the next level. The challenges out there are interesting and engaging, and the social impact of some of them is the cherry on top of that (for example, predict hateful memes / Identify melanoma in lesion images / Predict which Tweets are about real disasters and which ones are not).
In this webinar we will host two talks that reveal the great benefits of participating in Kaggle competitions:
Nati Shimoni will explain the “everybody wins” formula that competitive data science (CDS) holds and compare it to other platforms. He will shed light on both the common grounds and distinctions between CDS and work-related data science, along with real life tips for those making their first steps in competitive data science.
Following Nati's talk, we'll have Shay Guterman (JerusML community member, Algorithm engineer at Griin) to share with us his personal experience, so we could all get first hand impressions.
At the end of the webinar, we will have a short discussion about how to start participating CDS to hone your skills.
This talk will be in English. The host for this event will be Dror Paz.
