Sandwiches & Conversation at McAlister’s in Gurnee

Join us Saturday, March 15th for good Sandwiches & some other interesting fare at McAlister’s in Gurnee. I would call this an “upscale” sandwich place because there are more than sandwich options and the ambience is clean & nice. Their menu includes interesting sandwiches, loaded “spuds”, soups, salads & desserts. It’s also NOT LOUD! So we will be able to hear each other talking! And they have A LOT of large tables, so they can accommodate a larger group size if necessary.

This event is being held jointly with my “Progressive Singles 50+” group because of the small numbers of people in this “Dating” group. We already have a bunch of people signed up for this event with the Progressive Group, which you can view simply by going to the group, or signing up for the group if you wish.

As I’ve noted before, I make sure everyone is introduced at my events. We had so many people at my last dinner with the Progressive Group, that I didn’t get to know anyone very well. I hope we can get to know each other better at this upcoming dinner. We’ll be doing “get to know you” questions, so we can get a ‘feel’ for each other.

It should be understood that I don’t create any groups for Trump supporters – in case you have not read the group descriptions. That’s why I use the words “Progressive” or “Liberal”. We are in a HORRIBLE MESS in this country PRECISELY BECAUSE of Trump supporters!! If you’ve been watching some real news since Trump’s inauguration (not “Fox News” etc), you will see how much he & his yes-men are destroying this country.

In addition, during Trump’s first term, I had 2 death threats & a rape threat aimed at me for a MINOR criticism of Trump – FROM MY NEIGHBORS. (Back then, my criticisms of him were minor; they are NOT minor anymore). I also experienced many people YELLING AT ME, insulting me, or threatening me verbally, when I simply said I did not vote for Trump (in his first term). And I heard more moronic arguments from his supporters in my group when my groups did NOT have a political designation. And now, if you have any brains, you are seeing the dangers of Trump & his people coming to pass. I will NEVER tolerate that behavior again. These are just some of the reasons I EXCLUDE Trump or Republican supporters from my groups.

So we WILL be talking some politics at this event due to the crazy, endless crap that Trump & his party are doing. But we will ALSO make an effort to get to know each other SOCIALLY! We’ll find out some ordinary stuff about each other & see what we have in common. And we’ll aim for some levity! (Even if it’s just the “ironic” kind.)
