Worlds of the Dead

This late Halloween event is an exploration of the city’s lost graves and forgotten churchyards. We start with a short tour of some of the cemetary’s most interesting burials. We then walk to St Dunstans churchyard and find out about Medieval beliefs about death and resurrection before continuing to some of the city’s many forgotten burial grounds. Our final destination is Christchurch Gate where I shall tell the strange story of Beckett’s bones and an obsession that gripped the Cathedral authorities.
