“Wait, wasn’t that the July topic?” Yes, and it turns out that there’s a lot to say about HDF5; we just got started. So, for August, Evelyn and Stephen are going to talk even more about this powerful scientific data storage format.
HDF5 is a data format that’s especially popular in the sciences.
It is amazing at what it does.
But,
- How many meetings did you have to define the units for your stored data?
- It’s binary and everyone can read it in, but do you really need that full file structure
DDL is dedicated to discussion of technology and techniques related to dynamic programming languages: Python, Perl, Ruby, PHP, JavaScript, and sometimes something more exotic! These languages are fun and easy to get started with, yet powerful enough for all manner of professional use, and our members span the full range of experience with them.
