Looking for an adult co-ed softball league in Dayton? You found it. We are bringing the classic Gem City Social Sports vibe to the softball diamond. Whether you're a seasoned weekend warrior or you just want an excuse to get outside with your friends, our adult rec softball league is built for you.

We play an 8-week season focused on getting active, making new connections, and enjoying the outdoors. And because we know the real highlight of the day happens after the final out, Two Social in downtown Dayton is our official league headquarters and after-party spot. Win or lose, every game ends with a great time.

⚙️ HOW THE GAME WORKS
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

• Games are 55 minutes OR 7 innings — whichever comes first
• Every batter starts with a 1-1 count (one ball, one strike)
• 1 courtesy foul with two strikes allowed; a second foul with two strikes is a foul-out
• Strike mat is used — legal pitches must arc 6–10 feet; if it touches the mat, it's a strike
• Run caps: Innings 1–4 capped at 7 runs; innings 5–7 are unlimited
• 10-run mercy rule after 5 complete innings
• Only 2 over-the-fence home runs per team per game (additional = automatic outs)
• Male walk rule: If a male batter is walked (intentional or not), he goes to 2nd base
• Safety lines at home plate to prevent collisions
• Commit line between 3rd and home — once crossed, runner must go home
• No metal cleats; bats must have a visible USA (ASA) or USSSA stamp

We use a "Swiss" scheduling format — your team is dynamically matched against opponents with similar records each week, keeping every game fun, balanced, and competitive.

Social points are earned through weekly mini-games and team photos, and are combined with your win/loss results for overall standings. So showing up AND showing out both matter!

❓ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What skill level is this league?
All levels welcome! We're a competitive-social hybrid. Some players are former college athletes, others haven't played since gym class. Everyone fits in.

Can I sign up without a team?
Yes! Register as a Free Agent and we'll place you with a great group. It's one of the best ways to meet people in Dayton.

Are gender minimums enforced?
Yes. A full 10-player defense must include at least 4 female players. Teams may play short with 9 (3 females) but take an automatic out in the batting order for the missing female spot.

What's a grace period?
Teams have 10 minutes from game time to meet minimums (9 players, 3 females). After 10 minutes without minimums, the game is a 10-0 forfeit.

What equipment do I need?
Bring yourself and molded plastic cleats or turf shoes. No metal cleats. Bats must have a USA (ASA) or USSSA stamp. We supply all softballs.

Where's the after-party?
Two Social in downtown Dayton — the official GCSS league headquarters! Win or lose, come hang out after every game.
