It's fun, it's fast, and it never gets old. We will be running the Smokey Mountain 500 once again this summer over a 3-day weekend. Previous runs resembled more of a rally raid so to stay on schedule but make it a bit more relaxing this time we plan to take some ride arounds (short cuts) to save time.

Plan to meetup Friday morning at Iron Horse Motorcycle Lodge in Robbinsville and depart promptly at 9am. We will run counter clockwise toward Tellico Plains and spend the first night in Etowah, TN. The second day we will end up in Suches, GA. We will plan to stay in hotels or hostels but try to keep your plans flexible because we may shift a day or cancel due to weather. You're welcome to camp but kickstands up at 9am!

This is NOT a beginner ride. We will encounter mud, rutted out roads, rocks, deep gravel, and several stream crossings. All bikes must be plated and in good working order with fresh dirt-capable tires, chains in good condition and all lights working. Please bring a tool kit specific to your bike, spare tubes if you need them, and be capable of fixing flats and or having other arrangements in place should a mechanical issue arise. Make sure you have good rain gear! This is a “self guided” adventure and all riders should have gps and/or maps.
