Secular Zoom Community

To all new people, our group is against Christian nationalism. Christian zoom bombers invaded our meetings until we decided to vet everyone who attends. Directions about how to get vetted are included after our meeting details below.

The Epstein files have to contain some damning, toxic stuff. They so desperately need to distract our attention from them that they started a war of choice. That war is only minimally popular with the MAGA base. Virtually every reason cited for the war makes little sense and is likely to be based on a substantial misunderstanding of the facts on the ground. Oh, and it is massively in violation of both American and international law. I noticed that they are attempting to say, “Everyone knows that the War Powers Act is unconstitutional.” They really think they can say that laws written to bind the executive branch can be ignored just by declaring what “everyone knows.”

This is after declaring our government will contribute $10b to Trump’s vanity project, his Board of Peace. He defined himself as leader for life in how that organization is defined. How is this not just another attempted self dealing. He wants to grant himself $10 billion so that he can write checks against that money, when and where he wants to.

When the Supreme Court struck down much of the absurd tariffs, Trump just doubled down with even crazier tariffs. We are just destroying our own supply chains and forcing the rest of the world to reorganize with the understanding that the US is no longer a reliable trading partner.

DHS funding is still shut down. When will we find out if we can get the ICE and related thug force elements to function within reasonable, constitutional norms for police operations?

Anthropic LLMs were just declared a supply chain risk for the Defense Department. That occurred because Anthropic wanted no use of its AI for mass surveillance of Americans or any use for targeting enemies without humans making any final killing decisions. These are profoundly reasonable conditions. Rejecting them implies that the Defense Department is insisting on pursuing actions outside all previously assumed norms. Tyrants will want tools to inflict their desired tyranny.

Will democracy and science and reason survive? We will see. We will cherish and support each other as we cope with these never ending tidal waves of madness. Let’s connect and share our thoughts on how to find our joy and nurture it in others until sanity returns.

Our meetings have become a target for organized zoom bombing. Our major topic of discussion has been Christian nationalism and its hideous impacts across America. They have good reason to try to force us to stop our meetings. This requires us to work to preclude militant religious extremists from wrecking our meetings.

We will not post the zoom link for our meeting. The zoom link information will be delivered by email or direct personal messaging to trusted attendees only. I am now comfortable that this procedure works well enough so that a zoom waiting room will not be required.
I have a Google Voice phone number, (202) 643-4366. I do not answer calls to that number. But it does an excellent job of transcribing messages. People can use this number to verbally describe items requested in a possible email below.
