Implementing Vault on Kubernetes

Dan Fedick, Sr Staff SRE at Optimizely's Data platform team will share his experience implementing a production grade Vault cluster on Kubernetes.

Dan's Bio in his own words-

My name is Dan Fedick and I work at Optimizely as an SRE for the Optimizely's Data platform (ODP) team. I focus on bringing scalable solutions to our growing organization. You will find me most days standing in my phone booth in the basement with the doors closed automating my job away or talking to others about the most elegant solution for whatever problem we seem to be facing during the day.

I jumped on my first unix machine in 1996 and have been working in distributed systems ever since! Since my first year on the job I've done everything from setting up datacenter cloud infrastructure across the country to building small deployable imagery intelligence systems for the Airforce, working in tents in the middle east. The last 8 years, I've run the infrastructure team at Zaius and were most recently purchased by the great company I have landed at today!

I enjoy my work the most when I have more to do than I can possibly accomplish, I have a clear roadmap to get where I'm going and am helping others learn about what technologies are out there and how to use them more effectively!

Oh! I also love to be outside, and I am a bit of a hobby hound. I enjoy playing music, homesteading around the farm, home reconstruction, carpentry, wood carving, archery, hunting, biking, reading and hanging out with my beautiful wife and 8 kids(6 boys & 2 girls) and 3 goats.
