Talk Description:
Running Your CD Pipeline on Kubernetes and Other Fun K8s Features
Containers aren’t just for your applications, they can also simplify how you run and manage your continuous delivery tools. In this talk I will demonstrate running a continuous delivery pipeline with several popular tools (Jenkins, Sonarqube, Nexus) running in containers on a Kubernetes cluster. Using these tools, I will run a containerized application through the pipeline and also deploy that to Kubernetes using rolling deployments and service load balancers. I plan to show the ease with which you can stand up your CD tools with persistent volumes and expose them with TLS on the internet for use and also demonstrate how you can monitor, alert and view logs for all of your running services within your cluster simply by deploying a few tools to Kubernetes.
My hope is that this presentation will show you how fun and easy it can be to use containers to simplify the management of tools you use every day.
