DC Salsa, Rueda and Social Latin Dance & Music Meetup

Join us every Sunday at 7:30pm or earlier for the Washington DC Salsa, Rueda and Social Latin Dance & Music Meetup Group. We will be teaching mini-classes each week in many of the Latin dances by request (including a possible segment of the "Michael Jackson "Thriller" routine for those who DARE to even attempt it!). This event will be in conjunction with the Washington DC Latin Community and Dance Meetup Group as well as the Washington DC Brazilian Culture & Dance and Samba Meetup Groups.

Some people like to go out and dance only Salsa all evening, while others like to dance only Tango, Rueda or Swing. Some of us however enjoy learning and dancing all of the social Latin dances, as well as listening to the many different types of Latin music. And that is what this Meetup Group is all about. We want to include opportunities for training in each of these to include Merengue, Rumba, Cha Cha, Bolero, Samba, Lambada, Paso Doble, Cumbia, Bachata and more, as well as to provide fun places to dance them in a social environment.

Admission is $12.00 per person less discounts that are available for students & Meetup Group members who bring a printed copy of their Meetup Group profile from any Washington DC Meetup Group. Those who take any of the earlier classes on Sunday are automatically paid up to attend the dance party from 7:30pm to 10:00pm.

Look forward to another Special Salsa & Rueda, Ballroom, Argentine Tango, and Brazilian Samba Party and classes every week, to include earlier beginner and intermediate level classes in:

1. Social Ballroom, Swing and black tie & wedding dances at 2pm taught by Terry,
2. Beginner Viennese Waltz at 3pm taught by Terry,
3. Beginner Brazilian Samba at 3pm taught by Danielle Areco,
4. Salsa in multiple levels with multiple teachers at 4pm taught by Terry (beginners) and Danielle (intermediates including fun and easy Salsa tricks, dips and drops).
5. Beginner, Intermediate and advanced Casino Rueda from 5 to 7:30pm with Ernesto Reyes and SAOCO DC Rueda Dance Troop, plus
6. Beginner and intermediate Argentine Tango (2 separate levels with 2 teachers taught by Arnaud & Bella in studio A) from 6pm to 7:30pm

7:30pm - 10:00pm: Open dancing and practice in Argentine Tango, Salsa & Rueda and any of the social dances by request (two studios available at once for the different dance styles) including refreshments.

No partner or previous dance experience required.

Discounts of $2.00 per class (less multiple class discounts in all classes taken before 5pm) are available for all Meetup DC members in "ANY" of the Washington area Meetup groups who bring a copy of their Meetup profile. Admission to the dance party is included for anyone taking any Sunday class. Dance alone - $12.00 per person (or same Meetup or student discount).

The admission fee will include any one of the many classes being taught on Sunday before the "Sunday Salsa, Argentine Tango & Rueda Social" which starts at 7:30pm and which includes dance music in all styles of dance by request. The cost per class before 5:00pm goes down the more classes one takes. We'll also be providing plenty of refreshments, including "Terry's infamous apple pie right out of the oven with ice cream", and PLENTY of dancing and practice in many of the social dances.

Keep in mind that the more classes one takes throughout Sunday before 5:00pm, the less one pays per class. We try to encourage everyone to learn as much as they can while they're already there and the time is available to them.
