Introduction To Actors with Josh Suereth

I'm happy to announce that Josh Suereth, senior software engineer at Typesafe and author of Scala In Depth, will be joining us in DC to give a talk on actors on July 24! In the talk, he designs a distributed search service with Akka using Actors, covering: message passing, designing topologies, handling failure, service overload detection and tracking user sessions. Food and drinks will be provided.

6:30 - doors open
7:00 - General intro
7:05 - Introduction to Actors talk
7:50 - open forum/mingling

Audax Health is located in the Georgetown waterfront building:
3000 K St. NW, Sixth Floor
Washington, DC 20007
Metro - We are about a 15 minute walk from the Foggy Bottom metro stop on the Blue and Orange line
Parking - Our building has a parking garage (http://en.parkopedia.com/parking/underground/washington_harbour_center/20007/washington/) The entrance is on the river side of K street (under Whitehurst Freeway), between Thomas Jefferson St. and 30th St. It's a flat $10 after 4PM.
Once you've parked or have arrived at the Washington Harbor complex, our building is the one on the left if you are looking towards the river. The entrance is at street level, to the left of the smaller fountain (if you see Tony & Joes or Sequoia, go up the stairs away from the river and turn right). The doors are locked but we will have someone at the front desk from 6:30 until 8, so just knock.
