Software Craftsmanship Workshop

Software Craftsmanship Workshop

Details

Hi Everyone!
After a long hiatus, the DC Software Craftsmanship User Group is officially back up! Brian Gibson and myself will be joining Sahil and Fadi in running the group!

We'll kick the meetup back off with a round of coding katas! For those who are unfamiliar with software craftsmanship and would like to become familiar, we will give a brief introduction on core concepts of software craftsmanship like Test Driven Development and refactoring. Then we'll be practicing and working with others to help learn and solidify these concepts.

We will do our best to accommodate all languages, but examples will be in Java.

Requirements/Audience:
We will not be able to supply computers, so please bring a laptop with your desired language/testing framework installed.

There will be an introduction to software craftsmanship so all levels of programming knowledge and experience are welcome. Some level of programming experience is recommend.

The Agenda:
6PM Meet, Greet, and Eat!
6:30PM Introductions
7PM Begin Coding Katas!
8PM Wrap-up

Parking and Directions:
Careful! Parking is NOT located underneath the ATX, and we do NOT validate parking! We recommend that you can park across the street at 2100 - 2300 Clarendon Blvd (Entrance Located past Wells Fargo) because parking is free after 6pm on Weekdays. Enter the garage at 2100 Clarendon Blvd and turn right for gated parking in the garage or turn left for metered parking.
