Social: Meet and Greet with Andrew Skurka!

I am very excited to announce that Andrew Skurka, who will be in town to guide backpacking clinics out in West Virginia, has generously agreed to do a meet and greet with DC UL Wednesday, 5/28, at 7pm.

For many members of our group, Andrew (http://andrewskurka.com/about-andrew-skurka/) is a man who needs no introduction, as many of us have followed and admired his adventures from afar for years, read what he's written online, bought his book (http://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Hikers-Gear-Guide-Techniques-ebook/dp/B0078XD4AA/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1396456742&sr=1-1&keywords=andrew+skurka), and even fashioned our own adventures after his. Among his many accomplishments, he has been named "Adventurer of the Year" by both National Geographic and Outdoors Magazine. He has hiked, skied, or packrafted more than 30,000 miles--which is more than a trip around the earth at the equator!

We'll putting together a little potluck for Andrew. Denise Mainville (Bla Vegen / Haley's Mom) has graciously agreed to host at her home in Rockville.

The cost of this event is $11 per person, as for Andrew this is definitely a working trip. If you have a copy of his book, bring it along; if you don't, buy one and bring it along!

I need everyone to RSVP for this event well in advance!
