• What we'll do
This will be the final segment that Megan and I have for our section hike of the AT in PA. This is a two day trip covering 38mi, so is technically a little bit beyond the normal guidance for MO trips, however, we'll take fit non-veteran members on a case by case basis. Due to high usage of the AT, I've limited the group size to 5 which also simplifies the car shuttle.

Splits / Campsites:
PA-225 overpass (AT mileage 1151.0)
Night hike 2.8 mi to Peters mtn shelter (1153.8mi). (Or dispersed before)
18mi to Rausch gap shelter.

  • Or dispersed near the trail on the other side of Swatara gap if group is doing well.
    End at PA-501

Map: KTA AT in PA: sections 6 and 8, sections 1 through 6. As it's AT, I'll accept an AT databook + GPS app on your phone instead if desired.

~400 miles round trip, so figure on chipping in $40 to your driver if your catching a ride. I'll need a second driver to make the shuttle work. I'll loop back to Greenbelt metro to pick up folks. Let me know if you're coming from North of DC.

By RSVPing to this trip or any other DC UL trip, you agree to DC UL's liability waiver. https://www.meetup.com/DC-UL-Backpacking/pages/Liability_Waiver/
