Let's hike the Trout Run loop together! Planning on keeping the group fairly small so we have space enough for tents on Tibbett Knob Friday night, but will open it up to more depending on interest.

Plan is to meet Friday 7/5 at the Vienna Metro (North Side Kiss & Ride). Will drive from there to Wolf Gap Recreation Area then make the 1.5 mile ascent up to Tibbet Knob where we'll make camp (driving directions). After eating breakfast with a (hopefully) great view, we'll hike about 16 miles to Halfmoon Mountain and make camp at Halfmoon Lookout. On Sunday we'll make our way back down to the Wolf Gap parking lot, stopping for views at Big Schloss on the way. On way home we'll stop for lunch @ TBD.

Planned mile splits are approximately 1.5/16/9. Plan on packing in plenty of water since we won't be near a water source Friday night and potentially much of Saturday. Be prepared for summer heat and thunderstorms.
