MO: “What’s Up, Doc?” (Tour du Mont Blanc)

Details
Let’s circumnavigate the mighty Mount Blanc this Summer! We’ll cross the borders of France, Italy, and Switzerland around Europe’s most iconic massif!
Justus (T-JAW), DCUL’s favorite pediatric cataract surgeon who has returned to his native Germany, is coming and volunteers as our “man on the inside” to help coordinate this classic trip.
Since I understand Mount Blanc was named after Bugs Bunny creator, Mel Blanc, and because Dr. T-JAW is a doctor, I’m naturally calling this the “What’s Up, Doc” trek!
We are going to backpack DCUL-style with mostly camping. (This is permitted only in designated areas). There will be a couple nights in huts for the cultural experience, though.
We’ll post the details once we see who is interested. Expect splits of 15-20 miles per day with options for side excursions from the trail so we can immerse ourselves in the Alps. The loop is 100 miles. The excursions are additional.
---------------THE IMPORTANT WARNINGS-------------------
I’m just a co-participant on this trip, not a guide or an expert. I’ve been hiking with DCUL since 2017 but have no special training, such as organizational, medical, or navigational. My Bugs Bunny impersonation is not even that good.
You are officially on the trip if you both RSVP on Meetup, we engage by email, and you meet me at the first campground. Otherwise, you are doing your own trip until you make physical contact with me and I recognize you as a co-participant. I’m open to questions.
By RSVPing to this trip or any other DCUL trip, you agree to these guidelines and to DCUL's waiver liability terms (https://dculbackpacking.com/about/liability-waiver/)
COVID-19 policy: https://dculbackpacking.com/about/covid-19-guidelines/
Dues: Members and above, don't forget to pay your annual dues. You can check if you need to pay dues by seeing if the current year is listed next to your name in your DCUL profile.
