A 'Corporate Pond' Parade

This 5.5+ mile easy THRU/ ONE WAY walk is nearly all paved with minor elevation changes. Pace: 3mph. The trek traverses corporate buildings as well as the residencies that surround them, passing by placid ponds along the way! Can you enumerate how many? This walk starts at Innovation Center metro station & finishes at Herndon metro station (both SV).

The trek meanders by a metro mural & a mosaic of birds then ambles about offices to the Old (West) Ox Road marker. After egressing from a woodland wander the walk bops atop a befitting boardwalk in the Arrowbrook neighborhood, the site of a farmer farm turned recreational park. Next door, the historical Merrybrook House hides from view.

Latter of the circuit peruses past more ponds, featuring a flowery frolic via 'G.N.L.S. alley' (which might be burned to a crisp by late summer), then progresses through parking lots en route to a metal catwalk crawl. The trek concludes with a gander in a parking garage after bridging over the Herndon Monroe Wetland Preserve.

NOTES:
1. Trail Forecast= MAP | Street shoes best; shade advisory. Restrooms are located at both metro stations, behind the fare gates. The walk also pitstops for a restroom & water refill.
2. Car commuting/ parking is available in garages at both metro stations. Route your GPS to either station's park & ride garages, then proceed to the Meetup. The address for this Meetup may not be appropriate depending on your type of commute, please double check if directed by GPS.

We try to be punctual with our event times so please be respectful to others and show up a few minutes early. Note, we often limit the RSVPs to keep group sizes manageable. If you are on the waitlist but would really like to join, reach out to the organizer.
