This ~4mile easy walk is flat & paved. Pace: 3mph. The trek traverses by the D.C. Navy Yard, alongside the Anacostia River. This walk starts at Eastern Market metro station (OR/ BL/ SV line) & finishes at Anacostia metro station (GR line). Highlights include an artsy underpass, a drawbridge, & a gargantuan railroad gun.

The walk first meanders past the historical Eastern Market then hikes to the Old Naval Hospital, sauntering on some scenic streets before gandering at the Virginia Avenue park & garden.

Latter of the circuit parallels the altruistic Anacostia, trekking through [The] Yards Park, which draws nightlife on the daily, then dawdles down to a dock. After crossing the (plausible, but not likely) ILLUMINATED Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge (pictured), the walk concludes following a frolic atop frivolous footprints.
