DC512 July Meetup

July meetup for DC512: Monday, July 7th, 7pm-10pm @ Celis Brewery Beer Garden

Meetup Details:

-Attendees are welcome to present a firetalk (5-10 minutes) on a topic of their choosing. Sign-ups will be available prior to the firetalks portion of the meetup, see the organizers up by the stage in the Beer Garden to sign up. If you signed up for a talk at the last meetup and we weren't able to get to you, you will have priority this meetup. Those giving talks will receive an exclusive speakers-only DC512 sticker! Additionally, members who give 5 talks during 2025 will recieve a custom challenge coin.

NOTE: Giving a talk is optional and not a requirement. We kindly ask you to not film or take photos of any presentations without consent from the speaker.

• There will be an AV setup with HDMI (bring your own adapter) if you have slides for your talk.
• DC512 Radio Call for Music: We want to hear what you've got! Quite a few members of the community are talented musicians and we want to showcase your work. Submit your music (mp3 format preferred) via DM to one of the organizers to get it added to DC512 Radio.
• Little Hacker Library: If you have any books or swag taking up space on your shelf please consider donating it to our Little Hacker Library to give it a new home. Members are welcome to "check out" or keep books that are donated.
• Lockpicking: There will be a small variety of locks and picks to play with at the meetup, please return them at the end of the meetup.

Event Schedule:
Schedule subject to change depending on the weather.

Social: 7 PM - 8 PM
Firetalks: 8 PM - 9 PM
Social: 9 PM - 10 PM

Housekeeping:

-DC512 now meets on the first Monday of every month.

-If it's your first time don't feel obligated to give a talk. However, it's a great way to connect with likeminded people and helps us get a better feel for your interests. If speaking isn't your thing, it's perfectly alright to just hang out and chat with new folks.

-Celis Brewery has agreed to host us on a monthly basis. While Celis will still be open to the public during the meetup, we will have use of the stage in the Beer Garden and will be able to play DC512 Radio during the meetup throughout the venue.

-WE AREN'T PAYING THE VENUE! They are sponsoring us, so please pay them back with kindness and be generous with your tips.
