What we’re about

I'm the Director of Development and Communications at DC Coalition Against Domestic Violence and I'd like to build community around the work of our organization.

About DCCADV:
The mission of the DC Coalition Against Domestic Violence (DCCADV, the Coalition) is to build a community where domestic violence is replaced with human dignity.

As DC’s federally recognized domestic violence coalition, we partner with 17 member organizations to support thousands of survivors and the providers who serve them. We offer training and technical assistance to professionals across sectors and lead district-wide efforts to strengthen policies and systems—prioritizing safe housing, economic and legal support, prevention, as well as trauma-informed care.

Currently in DC:

• 47% of women and 43% of men in DC have experienced intimate partner physical violence, sexual violence, and/or stalking in their lifetimes.
• Over 50% of homeless families in DC cite domestic violence as a key factor in their situation.
• 9% of all homicides in DC are linked to domestic violence annually.
• These are not just statistics. They are our neighbors, co-workers, friends, and family members.
