Full Moon Monument Hike in DC

Friday Sept 9 will be a perfect evening for a full moon monument hike. So let's go enjoy a pleasant evening while we watch the sun set and the full moon rise over some of the most beautiful monuments in DC!

We'll start at the Smithsonian metro stop at 6:35 pm SHARP. We'll then walk over to the Tidal Basin to see the full moon rise around 7:45 pm. Along the way, we'll see some of DC's most beautiful monuments, including the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, the MLK Jr Memorial, and the Jefferson Memorial. Total distance will be about 5 miles, and we should be done around 10 pm.

Note there is free parking after 6:30 pm on 12th Street south of Independence Ave.

For everyone's comfort and safety, THIS EVENT IS LIMITED TO MEMBERS WHO HAVE BEEN VACCINATED FOR COVID-19.

If you would like to come on this walk, RSVP to the wait list by Thursday, Sept 1. Space is limited, and the spots will be filled by random lottery. Please only RSVP if you can actually make this event, and if you find you are unable to join us, please change your RSVP to Not Going at least one day in advance.
