White House Historical Association - 2023 Presidential Sites Summit
Monday, September 25 - Thursday, September 28
The Mayflower Hotel - Washington, DC
In 2016 I attended this event and it was an excellent opportunity to learn about the history of the White House, those that have lived and worked there, and the history of other sites throughout the country related to the President and First Lady.
Previously (2016) they had numerous speakers, an opportunity to visit the inside of the White House (East Room, Blue Room, Red Room, etc.), including a dinner reception with brief in-person comments by the President and a quick trip to the Oval Office (not normally open to the public), an evening program at the Kennedy Center, an opportunity to visit a few other local historical sites, etc. There are also a lot of networking opportunities for those interested in history and museums.
The full itinerary for this year is to-be-determined but I expect it to be excellent and thus highly recommend this unique, historical event.
This event is open to all, you don’t have to be a historian or museum professional and is a non-partisan/non-political event.
I (Robert) hope to attend myself (work schedule permitting) but won’t know for sure until we get closer to the event date.
For now this is a “save the date” type announcement with additional details to follow.
