Kensington Safer Soccer

This is the co-ed "safer soccer" weekend game in Kensington, MD. We use an awesome red foam ball which reduces injuries and pain. It makes the game more fun overall but is a little harder to dribble. Once you accidentally hit in the face with it (and laugh because you feel invincible and weren't hurt) and learn that even normal hits (http://healthland.time.com/2012/11/13/study-soccer-players-without-concussions-still-have-brain-changes/) with a 5 grow tau (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chronic_traumatic_encephalopathy) you'll never want to use a 5 again.

This game is free for most females and is $20/season for most males who can afford it and who RSVP. If you prefer to show up without RSVPing, the seasonal fee is $40. We are presently in the Summer Season. It runs until September 22nd. This comes to $1.50/game for the males. Incidentally, as unlikely as it seems, the money is not for meetup or equipment fees---it is because the establishment doesn't like our change, and does stuff to insure it does not spread worldwide.

We generally have about 2x the # of rsvps showing. To get a more accurate headcount, also look at the attendance from last week’s game, or read the last weekly reminder/nag email (https://www.meetup.com/safersoccer/boards/thread/23643732/0), which usually also gives it.

Playing with friends, family, lovers, bigger children, parents, significant others, etc. of other players help makes our game super fun. But, due to this being a method for anonymous "players" sneaking into our past games, guests now need to use a separate meetup.com account.
