An Afternoon of Stillness (Evergreen-Conifer)

Details
Nature is a reflection of the stillness that's exists deep within ourselves. Read this article (http://contemplativehiking.com/2013/02/09/do-we-really-want-inner-peace/) I wrote about "inner peace" and the sense of aliveness you can cultivate in nature before coming on the hike if you have time.
This is an easy, 3 mile walk in the woods at Flying J Ranch Park in Jefferson county, between Conifer and Evergreen. We'll do an easy pace and stop a couple of times along the way to take in all the sights and sounds of the woods.
There aren't any spectacular views, but it's nice to smell the pines, breathe the fresh air, and relax in the relative silence. I'm also inviting members from another MeetUp group to join us, so this may not be 100% a silent hike. Depends on who shows up from that other group.
WHERE TO MEET: We will meet at the main entrance larger parking lot. Look for the brown sign on Hwy 73 and turn there: http://jeffco.us/openspace/openspace_T56_R13.htm
WHAT TO BRING: It's snow-packed, muddy and icy in spots. Bring winter traction for your hiking boots and/or some poles if you have them. Otherwise, HIKE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
COFFEE/TEA AFTER: If enough people are interested, we can have coffee/tea/snack in Conifer after the hike.
DISTANCE: About 3 miles total, or 90 minutes at an easy pace.
ELEVATION GAIN: 200 feet. The trail itself is at about 8,000 ft in elevation.
DOGS: Ok but on leash, according to park regulations.
CANCELLATION: If this MeetUp is canceled, it will no longer appear on the website the morning of the hike. If you have questions, text or call me 303-596-7230
