EventStorming, BDD and sick teachers! Exploring behaviour before structure.

Details
Hi all,
Looking at a complex structural model can feel like looking at a sick teacher. :-) For the outsider, the picture does neither convey much about the reasons, nor much about the consequences!
Paul Rohorzka and me (Martin Schimak) want to invite you to participate in a workshop experiment, we prepared. :-) Paul and me had a lot of fun and have a "hidden agenda" (well... now not anymore!)
a) „unlearn“ a modeling style focusing on structural aspects only
b) experiment how diverse behavioural modeling methods fit together
c) discuss how that relates to BDD and the idea of ubiquituous language
Therefore, Paul and me will walk you through a few steps, we will actively do together!
-
Explore together a STRUCTURAL model in a domain of our educational system. We assume everybody knows a bit about it! :-)
-
Explore what HAPPENS when an (undesired!) event occurs in that domain. We will to do that in groups leveraging Event Storming!
-
Focus on an interesting POLICY we discover in our Event Storming sessions and describe RULES and specific EXAMPLES for it.
If time is left we want to illustrate and discuss how we can express such examples by means of Gherkin Scenarios and how that helps us to move beyond the ubiquituous language we found in the structural model.
We hope that many of you join in on that experiment! :-)
