Gaining advanced ‘Power BI Data Analytics skill’ to Enhance Your Career in 2025

Details
Hi All,
This will be the first official session for the DDI group to start off the New Year on a high 🚀
🧠No messing around in 2025; we’re going to go straight down to business with key skills, ideas, and concepts you add to your CV or wider career strategy to give you a competitive advantage. 🧠
The key areas to be covered are:
- 🎯 Background to the data domain where tools like Power BI (widely recognised as a citizen tool) fit into it, what you can do with this tool that will make you look technical without the coding or advanced technical skills
- 🎯 Use cases for Power BI; Development and Managerial, that I have created throughout my career, which you can’t find online
- 🎯 The key areas of Power BI; allowing you to gain hands-on experience, you can directly add to your CV to help you stand out!
- 🎯 Why I think it’s worth investing in data skills, and how you might even have an advantage with data if you DON’T come from a data background versus if you do
- 🎯 My opinion/insight into the market, how to be highly competitive to date, and showing some of my data skills.
🧠 90% of the content comes from a 2nd stage 350-400 a day ppt I created for a 17-day contract job over 2-3 months (which was highly competitive to get, but I declined as I had to get time off work; I wouldn't be learning new skills; I’m used to training commercially and am a bit of an expert in data), but I’ve built it into a standalone product, which gives a comprehensive overview into data, challenges, and how to overcome it; it’s been validated with others in a commercial environment :)
🧠 Also have the opportunity to get further help with stuff if you want it, stuff you can’t normally get help with.
🧠 If you have more questions as a result of the session I can’t answer, leave it in the feedback form after the session, as I’ll review all, type it up, group it, and send the response back out to all if you want to know it (there's no such thing as a silly question; if one person thinks of it, others will benefit from knowing the answer as well).
Feedback forms will be made available after the session 🔑; feel free to be harsh but honest as enjoy learning from others opinion.
I’m sure it’ll be a blast, and regardless of skill level, you’ll learn something new and useful (🚀zero to hero type of stuff🚀, 10 years of knowledge consolidated as much as I can into one session, giving you the overview I wish I could have had, as I could have gotten to my current level 10 years earlier)
I might throw in a data competition towards the middle of January if anyone is up for it (I'll mention it later).
