User Experience of Data – Visualizing Data for Actionable Insights
Details
Using data is like following a treasure map. You follow it wherever it leads to find the X and dig up the treasure hidden below the surface. As a cooperation between the Aachen Usability Meetup and the Aachen Data & AI Meetup we’ll be talking about the user experience of data. We’ve invited four experts in this field to present their perspectives to uncovering the treasure trove of information buried in the data. Over the course of the evening, we’ll learn about how they produce insights from data and how you can apply these approaches yourselves.

DETAILS
René Stoffels-Fuchs, BI Frontend Architect at Generali IT, will give us a look into the proven and robust standards they apply to reporting, making it easy for everyone in the room to focus on what’s important. Brightlands Smart Services Campus Prof Kay Schröder will drill deeper into visualization beyond two dimensions, while Ji-Seung Shin, master student at the chair for Process and Data Science, RWTH, will add the dimension of time to the mix, talking about animated visualisations. Last but not least, Dipl. Soz. Nicole Reinhold, senior service designer at Cocomore AG will show us the value of transforming data into stories.
Following the presentations, the speakers will discuss the advantages and disadvantages to their approaches in different use cases. Should you wish, you’ll have the opportunity to join the discussion with your own experiences, insights and questions. As always, the evening will be rounded out with networking over snacks and drinks.
We’d like to thank Generali IT for generously sponsoring the meetup.
Further supporters are also AC.E (https://ac-e.org/) and digitalHUB Aachen (https://aachen.digital).
