How to establish data driven decisioning

Details

In our next meetup, we'll have a look at DATA-DRIVEN DECISION MAKING! Listening to your gut feeling is a good thing, but the question is: how can you prevent mistakes in your decisions? The answer, which we will explore during the event, is that we need to take all relevant facts and context into account.

👉 In his short introduction, Thomas Gerstmann, Consultant for Conversion Optimization, Data Science & User Research (https://www.linkedin.com/in/thomasgerstmann) will give a brief overview of the overall topic and the following two talks: What - as a basis to the meetup - is a decision at all? What is data-driven decision making? What established processes and methods for data-driven decisioning exist today? What are the advantages of this approach?

👉 Todays first talk then will be delivered by Daniel Appasamy Franklin from Datayaan, a data startup from India (https://www.linkedin.com/in/daniel-appasamy-franklin-085421132). He will talk about data driven decision making through analytics and through the internet of things. To illustrate this, he presents a use case of a transport logistics implementation. With this end to end solution they enable utilization of data. He shows, how it can help to drive an organization towards growth with a real-time data.

👉 The second speaker is Sujit Kumar, Data Science Consultant at OSTHUS GmbH (https://www.linkedin.com/in/sujit-kumar-a4b06b23/). His talk: Machine Learning models, whether using a simple statistical algorithm or a complex neural network, are used to make important business decisions nowadays. However, it’s often overlooked or is just difficult to explain how did a model arrive at a certain conclusion. The focus of my talk will be to throw some light on why is explaining the ML model behavior so important, and some of the ways in which it can be accomplished.

The event will once again take place on the awesome networking platform hopin.to, which provides innovative online networking possibilities.

As usual in our meetups, we’ll give you the opportunity to network with the experts and with the other participants.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us: data.ai.meetup@gmail.com.
