18:30 – 19:00: IoT and Industry 4.0: From Buzzwords and New Business Models // Laura Geier (Commercial Lead IoT & Advances Analytics, Microsoft Deutschland GmbH)
Abstract:
The economy puts high hopes into the networking of people, computers, machinery and everyday objects: Until 2025, productivity gains of 78 billion euros are expected. These are drawn from the optimization of existing solutions, but especially from new business models.
Laura Geier (Microsoft Germany) talks about digitization and the "Internet of Things" and explains the necessary steps for a successful implementation of new business models.
Bio:
As Business Lead for IoT & Advanced Analytics, Laura Geier is responsible for IoT in Cloud & Enterprise in Germany since January 2016.
As a graduate in information systems & business administration she first worked for Boston Consulting Group, Oliver Wymann and Lodestone Management Consultans.
In January 2012, she joined Microsoft’s technical sales for Dynamics CRM and for three years focused on the customer segments Upper Midmarket, Public Sector and Automotive.
Prior to her current role, she was Product Manager for Data Platform and Microsoft Azure.

Abstract:
With Partner Channel Transformation Microsoft Germany brought a worldwide unique project to life, to open and win new markets with scaling solutions by both new and existing Microsoft partners. As the leader of the IoT Innovation project team Nico Wilhelm will share practical experiences and insights on new ways of collaborating with the team from a partner as well as a customer perspective.
Bio:
After several years as a Marketer in the music industry Nico Wilhelm started at Microsoft Germany in 2012 with different Audience Marketing & Audience Evangelism roles focusing on Breadth Marketing around Microsoft Azure within technical audiences. Since summer 2016 he is part of the German Partner Channel Transformation project leading the IoT Innovation Cluster as one of seven project teams.
19:15 – 19:45: Azure IoT: From Sensor Data to Business Intelligence // Robin-Manuel Thiel (Technical Evangelist, Microsoft Deutschland GmbH)
Abstract:
In this introduction talk, we will discover how data processing and device management works within the Microsoft Azure IoT offering. We will follow a simple sensor data on its travels through the cloud and will see how it gets stored, processed, managed and displayed in a dashboard.
Bio:
At daylight, Robin-Manuel Thiel, Technical Evangelist at Microsoft, talks about new IT trends and developments. But at night he turns into a tinker and developer which sometimes leads to insufficient sleep. He loves cool technologies, cross-platform and everything with a power-plug or IP address.

Abstract:
This session explains what needs to be done to build a commercial Windows IoT (formally known as Windows Embedded) devices Focus will be how to securely connect a device to the cloud, what needs to be done during production and what are the embedded features of windows that can be leveraged to develop secure IoT devices.
Bio:
Gunter Logemann has more the 20 years’ experience in developing professional Software for the Windows platform and embedded Systems. Started as Windows Driver Developer he worked as Project Manager and Program Manager in the development Departments of Siemens and Infineon before he joined Microsoft in 2005 to be part of the Core Windows development team with the focus on the Media and Hardware Experience in Windows. He is now part of the Microsoft Embedded Consulting Team to help Microsoft Partners to develop next generation HW and IOT devices.
20:30 – 21:00: Real world IoT projects – from building a digital strategy to digitize your business – step by step approach // Max Morwind (Internet of Things Solution Specialist -- Cloud & Entreprise IoT Global Black Belt, Microsoft Deutschland GmbH), Marco Viets (Partner and Principal Consultant, Bright Skies GmbH)
Bio Max Morwind
Max Morwind works as solution specialist for IoT in Germany in the Global Black Belt Team to support and develop new business cases together with customers and implement new scenarios in production or around their products. In addition, he is building a partner eco-system in order to leverage existing implementation capabilities to drive the value of IoT. Together with his technical experts they are building the lead on digitalization and using these insights to skill up Microsoft sales force.
Bio Marco Viets
Marco Viets, partner and principal consultant at Bright Skies GmbH, has been working in the IT business for more than 15 years. He is considered an expert in many Microsoft technologies, including Azure, Office 365, EMS and Exchange Server. He is certified as an Azure Solutions Architect and also holds several MCSE and MCSA certifications. Marco is interested in general IoT topics and smart homes in particular, as well as virtual/augmented reality. He is 35 years old and lives in Hamburg with his wife and his daughter.
