Debugger-Driven Development
Details
For this month's meetup, Diego and Stephan will do a workshop with us on Debugger-Driven Development. So if you're curious what that could be and how it works or just want to meet other people who are interested in Object-Oriented Programming, drop in!
We strive to provide a safe environment for everyone. (https://github.com/ObjectGroupBerlin/resources/blob/master/safe-environment.md)
Workshop details
After an interactive (participative) demo of live programming, we will discuss the limits of liveness. In a system with very late binding where everything is an object, including the compiler and run-time stack, Debugger-Driven Development makes a style of TDD possible with a much shorter feedback loop. We have prepared some exercises to learn how this works. For this each pair of participants should bring a laptop. Please check the Pharo website ( https://pharo.org ) to ensure you have the dependencies installed. It will help if you already download pharo 6. We will provide an image, and if needed a VM.
