Demand Forecasting in Practice: OPAL & Social Meetup

I'm happy to announce the next meetup, this time with OPAL as our host at the MAFINEX technology center in Mannheim:

"OPAL (Operational Analytics GmbH, Mannheim) supports retailers in planning and proactive processing of fresh produce such as bakery and meat products. We analyze data in real time during the creation of a transaction with our Demand Forecast Engine (DFE). The transaction data is enriched with context information from the environment and with historical facts. The algorithms of the DFE are adaptive and self-learning and offer an automated integration of external influencing factors (e.g. weather, global and local events, catchment areas).

The selection of suitable influencing factor combinations (feature selection) takes place in the evaluation phase of the models - here we would like to discuss the approaches with you. Another topic is the preprocessing of the time series, especially multiple imputations, which can be used for so-called stock-out treatment."
