What's coming in Selenium4, Diego Molina

What has Selenium been doing during the last two years? Two years since the last stable release! The Selenium project has been spending time organising itself a bit better, understanding what users need and want, improving components, rewriting Grid from scratch, integrating Chrome Dev Tools Protocol (CDP), and thinking about WebDriver BiDi, preparing Selenium 4, and above all, creating a collaboration environment.

What is new in Selenium 4? How does it work and what can I do with the CDP integration? How could I upgrade to Selenium 4? Is Grid 4 more stable and scalable? Can I use my Selenium 3 code with Grid 4? And most importantly, will Selenium 4 fix all my Selenium problems?

Let me share with you what is the roadmap to Selenium 4, how to contribute to it, and some of the thoughts we have for the future of Selenium.

About Diego Molina (@diegofmolina):
Diego is a Software Engineer who is fascinated by testing. He is a Selenium core committer. He loves enabling testers and developers by creating helpful testing tools and infrastructure and through versatile workshops. Diego can often be spotted speaking at Selenium/Appium/Testing conferences and most of the time you can find him on the Slack channel for Selenium. Currently, he works at Sauce Labs as a Senior Software Engineer.

"10 steps to automate security/compliance tests".
The fourth industrial revolution - better known as digitalization - places high demands on companies that are at home in regulated markets. Particularly in the area of compliance, great efforts must be made to survive in digital Darwinism.

Security rules (Compliance Rules, Controls) in the sense of rule conformity seem to be in contradiction to our digitally transforming, agile world. At first glance, agility does not go hand in hand with excessive caution and strict compliance with regulations such as PCI Data Security Standards, Prudential Regulation Authority, etc. Is it possible for regulated industries to deliver new products and services at high speed, continuously, while meeting their regulatory compliance obligations?

The answer is a resounding yes. One of the solutions is to embed regulatory compliance into the software development or delivery process. The presentation will show how OpenSource tools were used to take the first step with Compliance as Code and how security tests in an AppSec pipeline were automated in subsequent steps.

About Rudolf Grötz (@RudolfGroetz)
