Do you want to learn how websites work under the hood? Maybe you are working on an App or Website, but don't know how to run it or bring it to production? Or you are just curious about infrastructure in general?

We are a cloud provider and know a lot about Linux, programming and running Software and Systems :) Together we can learn how things work under the hood!

Bonus: We will provide you with free drinks, comfort food and free access to our cloud platform for three months, so you can deepen your learning experience after the Hackathon.

What to expect:
This hackathon series is for e.g. women, everyone identifying LGBTQI, People of Colour and People with disabilities who have some basic experience regarding Linux or programming. It is free of charge.

There will be two meetings:
In the first meeting (Friday, February 22, 18:00), we will get to know each other and find a suitable group and project for you. We will show you examples and answer all the questions you may have.
The second meeting (Saturday, March 2, 10:00 – 19:00), will be hands-on.
First of all, you will get access to SysEleven Cloud, free of charge, for three months.
Then you will work on your projects together with your group and mentor(s).
Some projects we are preparing are installing and running Nextcloud, Rocketchat or your own Wordpress.
If you want some more advanced stuff, we can assist you to set up a complex distributed system or feel free to bring your own code or project.

You should have some basic experience regarding Linux or programming. This could mean, that you have already used non-graphical User Interfaces before, such as a terminal or you are familiar with any kind of programming language.
Please bring your own laptop.
Our facilities are wheelchair accessible, and there is also a wheelchair accessible lavatory.
We speak English and German. The meeting language will be English.

If you want to participate, please register here on meetup.com and write 2-3 sentences with the following information:

- your previous experiences
- a short description of your project, if you have a project idea
- if you want to let us know of dietary restrictions
- This will help us prepare the event.

More about SysEleven and diversity (German only):

If you want to get involved, but the time of the event does not work for you, don't hesitate to contact us anyway. We'll invite you to one of the follow-up events.
