It's TechTuesday again! For June 2017 we deliberately chose a title that is so cheesy that it's already close to brilliant. And the topic couldn't be more up-to-date: we are going to take a look at the state of IT security.
Roman Huessy (MELANI): IT Security? IT Security!
Roman Huessy will join us from the Swiss Computer Emergency Response Team (GovCERT) of the Swiss government. GovCERT.ch's parent organisations is the Reporting and Analysis Centre for Information Assurance (MELANI) which informs and protects the public and its infrastructure from threats. Roman will give us a brief introduction to the work of MELANI and GovCERT and will then report extensively on current cyber security issues.
Dominik Bärlocher (Digitec): The case of the Digitec phishers
Digitec is one of the largest online retailers in Switzerland and thus a convenient target for hackers and phishers. Only recently, a well-crafted email struck the eyes of the infosec department. Dominik tells us the story of how they identified the source and what their measures against cyberattacks include.
Steffen Otto: Get hacked! Live cyber security demo!
Always wanted to see how cyber attackers can fool you? We are happy to feature Steffen Otto for a demo! Steffen is an IT security specialist and will (try to) live hack you during the event. That will be fun! (And no one will be harmed, we promise :-)
As always afterwards we will have a lively discussion and Q&A with our experts. We are also happy to announce that Raphael Reischuk, one of our previous speakers, will join the discussion. Raphael is Senior Information Security Consultant at Zühlke.
We'll keep you posted on the schedule. In the meantime: you know someone who could potentially contribute to any of the two above, or a related topic? Please feel free to reach out to us.
See you all on June 6th!
