Cooking with data @Vorwerk
Welcome to our 5th WiBD Düsseldorf meetup!
06:30 pm - 07:00pm:
Welcoming with snacks and drinks
What do our customers cook with their new Thermomix?
Benedikt Schmitz - Data Engineer:
He will refer about how Vorwerk is using Microservices and Cloud to build the UsageBox. The UsageBox is a smart ear inside over a million devices, listening to what our customers are doing and how the device is behaving. Personalized recipe recommendations and predictive maintenance is the goal. Embedded software is the way to reach this goal and differently compared to self-contained microservices. And how to actually keep all those components in sync? And what is actually in for the customers? And what about GDPR?
The aswers to all of these questions will be given during the presentation.
How to reasonably structure reports and dashboards?
Anna Knaub - Change, Release & Deployment Manager
She will refer about Information Design, important Visualization Guidelines which should be considered when creating reports and dashboards. What is the key message? How does a report change with its audience?
The answers and examples of how Information Design is implemented for specific dashboards at Vorwerk will be presented.
How to be and stay successful in the male-dominated IT world?
Simone Rehage - IT consultant for almost 20 years and a freelancer since 2011
She will be giving a short motivational talk to give insights into her personal experiences with the still male-dominated IT world. She will further talk about what made it possible for her to go her own way, be successful and still have a lot of fun working in this area.
