In this meetup we will cover two trending tech topics: Automation and Artificial Intelligence. Dieter Stubler (CEO independIT) will introduce Process Automation with schedulix and Mario Behling (CEO OpnTec) will talk about SUSI.AI. After the meetup we will go out for dinner nearby.

Talk 1: ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE WITH SUSI.AI

SUSI.AI is an open source voice bot framework created together with a global community. It makes use of web services, AI technologies, search engines, and smart devices. Our goal is to build an open and privacy respecting alternative to proprietary systems like Alexa, Siri or Google Home. SUSI.AI is capable of chat and voice interaction and by using APIs it performs skills such as music playback, making to-do lists, setting alarms, streaming podcasts, playing audio books, and providing weather, traffic, or other real time information. ABOUT SPEAKER: Mario Behling is the CEO of OpnTec. He is a technologist with 15 years of experience in leading international development teams in Europe and Asia. Together with partners he works on SUSI.AI supported by the Horizon 2020 program of the EU. Apart from tech Mario also has an interest in Brazilian music, in Vietnam he designed and built a seven storey eco-hotel and in Afghanistan he setup mesh networks in schools. Talk 2: PROCESS AUTOMATION WITH SCHEDULIX

In the starting phase of a project, everything is always quite simple. The number of processes is low, they are of low complexity, the amounts of data are easy manageable and flow control isn’t (yet) an issue. With a few lines of shell script about every process is managed, fast, pragmatic and affordable. Exactly this circumstance hides a great risk. As these solutions will bind considerable development resources because of increasing complexity and increased requirements regarding performance and reliability, they will make a reliable and stable operation in the medium-term at reasonable costs impossible. In this session Dieter Stubler will explain the benefits of professional IT-automation with schedulix, gives an overview about the functionality and answers your questions about Workload Automation.

ABOUT SPEAKER: Dieter Stubler is a certified computer scientist with over 20 years of experience in database and process automation. He started his career in Software Development at PCS GmbH in Munich, responsible for porting Oracle RDBMS Software to PCS CADMUS (Munix) Hardware. Later on he became a trainer and consultant for the Ingres RDBMS. In 1997, Dieter founded independIT Integrative Technologies GmbH, focusing on large Data Warehouse projects and IT Workload Automation.
