Blockchain and cryptocurrencies are currently receiving an enormous amount of interest. The new emerging decentralized technologies are believed to innovate the financial sector and many other fields of application. The rise of blockchain and cryptocurrencies also entail interesting aspects from a behavioral point of view. Which incentive schemes exist in blockchain-based systems? How are cryptocurrencies regulated by the authorities?
Dr Claudio Tessone is Assistant Professor for Network Science at the University of Zurich. Blockchain and cryptocurrencies are a pillar of his research. He is a founding member of the Blockchain Centre UZH.
Dr Thomas Frick is a Senior Attorney at the Swiss law firm Niederer Kraft & Frey. He counsels Swiss and international enterprises in particular in the finance industry on various legal and regulatory issues. He is an advisor of different FinTech projects and is the editor of the FinTech Law Review.
