ARIC Brown Bag Session: Squeezed light for quantum sensing

High-precision laser-based measurements face limitations from photon shot noise. The conventional solution to increase optical powers improves the signal-to-noise ratio, but can damage biological samples, affect mechanical devices with heat, necessitate extra laser safety measures, and have economic constraints. Squeezed light offers an alternative, reducing noise without power increase.
