This online live session is specially provided for all WeAreDevelopers World Congress Berlin 2022 participants, but of course for all other MicroStream enthusiasts too, who want to hear again what MicroStream is, how it fundamentally works, what's new, and how to get started building ultra-fast in-memory database apps and microservices with pure Java. This is also a great opportunity to ask all of your technical questions directly to the people who write the MicroStream code. This online meetup session is free of charge as usual.

Topics:

  • About the MicroStream Open Source project
  • Functional principle of MicroStream
  • Download and setup MicroStream
  • Design of a suited object-graph model
  • Create a new object-graph (in-memory-database) and storage instance
  • CRUD operations (Store, edit, and remove objects, eager- and lazy-loading)
  • Queries with Java Streams API
  • Handling class changes by using MicroStream legacy type mapping
  • MicroStream Cluster
  • Contributing
  • Q&A

After a brief introduction to the MicroStream Open Source project and the functional principles, we will introduce the code for all important data storage functions, such as

  • storing objects
  • loading objects
  • differences between eager- and lazy-loading
  • deleting objects
  • searching and filtering
  • handling class changes by using legacy type mapping
